Extreme Library Makeover Sale and Sweepstakes Official Rules

Gale is giving away $1,000 for each of the first 5 weeks of the Extreme Library Makeover Sale and Sweepstakes. No purchase necessary to enter. Customers who purchase eBook titles through the Extreme Library Makeover Sale Web site are automatically entered. An alternate method of entry is provided for those who do not wish to participate in the Extreme Library Makeover Sale.

Extreme Library Makeover Sweepstakes Rules

  1. No purchase necessary to enter or win.
  2. Contest begins Nov. 10, 2008, and all entries must be received by Dec. 19, 2008.
  3. Gale reserves the right to discontinue the Sweepstakes at any time and to disqualify any individuals who have violated these Official Rules.
  4. Must be 18 years of age or older.
  5. Participants are bound by these Official Rules.
  6. Sweepstakes entry is limited to the public, academic and special library communities. Special libraries are defined as business and corporate, government and military, and hospital organizations.
  7. The contest is open to every library in the United States excluding K-12 schools and their libraries. Void in Puerto Rico and where prohibited by law. OPEN TO U.S. RESIDENTS ONLY.
  8. One entry per person, per week, unlimited chances to win. Weeks begin at 12 a.m. Monday morning and end at 11:59 p.m. on Sunday. Mailed entries will be entered for the week during which they are received.
  9. All prizes will be awarded by Gale.
  10. Employees of Gale and affiliates and family members are not eligible to win.
  11. Odds of winning will be determined by the total number of entries received.
  12. All prizes will be awarded. If a prize is forfeited, another random drawing will determine the winner of forfeited prize.
  13. Prizes are non-transferable and no substitutions or cash redemption will be made.
  14. Winners will be drawn according to the following schedule:
    Week 1: For entry period beginning 12 a.m., Monday, Nov. 10, and ending at 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 16, a winner will be selected at random and notified on Wednesday, Nov. 19 and announced online Friday, Nov. 21.
    Week 2: For entry period beginning 12 a.m., Monday, Nov. 17 and ending at 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 23, a winner will be selected at random and notified on Wednesday, Nov. 26 and announced Friday, Nov. 28.
    Week 3: For entry period beginning 12 a.m., Monday, Nov. 24 and ending at 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 30, a winner will be selected at random and notified on Wednesday, Dec. 3 and announced Friday, Dec. 5.
    Week 4: For entry period beginning 12 a.m., Monday, Dec. 1 and ending at 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 7, a winner will be selected at random and notified on Wednesday, Dec. 10 and announced Friday, Dec. 12.
    Week 5: For entry period beginning 12am, Monday, Dec. 8 and ending at 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 14, a winner will be selected at random and notified on Wednesday, Dec. 17 and announced Friday, Dec. 19.

  16. Total amount of prizes is $5,000.
  17. Not responsible for lost, late, illegible, misdirected, mutilated, incomplete or postage due mail or entries. In the case of electronic entries, Gale is not responsible for electronic or computer delays or malfunctions.
  18. Winners will be required to sign an affidavit of eligibility and release from liability within 90 days of notification of any award or upon redemption of prize. Entry in the contest constitutes permission to use winners name and likeness for publicity purposes, without further compensation, where permitted.

    E-mail address.
    The following signed statement: I am 18 years of age or older and have read and agree to comply with the Sweepstakes Rules.
  20. Limitation of Liability.  By entering the Sweepstakes, each entrant releases Gale and its affiliates and agents from all liability for damages, losses or injuries resulting from participation in the Sweepstakes and/or possession, use or awarding of any prizes from the Sweepstakes.
  21. Prior to online entry, customers must agree to the following statement:
    I am 18 years of age or older and have read and agree to comply with the Sweepstakes Rules.
