Overview
Opportunities in Emerging Markets aims to shed some light onto the realities of investing in emerging markets from the perspective of practitioners, pioneer investors and local heroes. Within developing markets, there are country and regional specifics driven by unique cultures and social structures that lie beyond the most general rules of investing. However, as with all volatile markets, there are opportunities for the prepared that many will find attractive. This is not an academic investigation into the theoretical concepts underlying frontier markets and the performance of investments therein but rather a series of structured and practical thoughts for fellow investors, be they institutions, general partners, limited partners or shareholders. These thoughts are based on cases, good and bad experiences in many frontier markets as well as a blend of conceptual and practical insights. Author Gordian Gaeta combines some standard approaches adopted by the investment community at large with the exigencies of frontier markets realities resulting in a framework for successful investing.
