Overview
With the objective of laying the foundations on soil and rock mechanics, continuum mechanics for geologists, engineers developed the key elements of the subject of the same name. The contents included in this work, can be applied to fields such as construction work, especially groundwater, provide students with the conceptual tools which were hitherto scattered in various handbooks. Beside the analysis of the most important aspects of fracture mechanics basic facts are provided about the mathematical model of elastic behavior of solids and viscous behavior patterns in general practice, which form a clear and simple volume for the student.
