Zheng Ping is a graduate from the Department of Geology, School of Earth and Space Sciences, Peking University. He was the chief editor for Geographical Knowledge of China and wrote the following books: The Mysterious Antarctica, Travel Guide for Youths, Geological Kaleidoscope, Around China in 30 Days, Youngsters Travel around the World, The Unknown World: Its Land and Seas , Dialogue between the People and the Land, and A Pioneering Undertaking.
