Overview
The Sociology Reference Guide series is designed to provide a solid foundation for the research of various sociologicaltopics. In this volume, the contemporary landscape of business labor is framed by two important developmentsrepresented by the transformation of global corporate capitalism and by the economic downturn in the first decadeof the twenty-first-century. The developments in global markets are, of course, concomitant with a restructuring oflabor in the United States. The essays in this volume discuss the general issues in today's multinational and corporatestructures, the changes encountered by workers and labor unions, and the overall stability of the American workforce.
