Overview
Analyzes the different attitudes and explores the complex mentality and concerns of the intellectuals in China toward the Christian culture in the unique historical context of the May Fourth Period. Debates on the issues of Christianity during the May Fourth Period have encouraged the brainstorming of ideas on national salvation, promoted the understanding of Christianity and localization of the church, and strengthened interactions between Christians and non-Christians. This study argues that human culture should be studied as a whole and it is necessary to understand foreign culture and establish connections between foreign and local indigenous cultures.
