The Parts of Speech tool in Gale Digital Scholar Lab can be used to uncover how an author’s style changes over their publishing career, or to compare the works of different writers.

Parts of Speech uses natural language processing of syntax to recognise and tag parts of speech. Users can create a series of Content Sets featuring texts from different authors, years, or types of writing, before passing each Content Set through the tool to conduct a comparative analysis.
